Our chair offers the opportunity to write bachelor and master’s thesis on actual research projects.

„The thesis is an examination paper and at the same time part of research education. With the thesis the candidate shows, that she/he is able to solve a research problem from her/his study program in a limited time by her-/himself."

Below you will find details for your application, all necessary requirements and how to work out a topic for your thesis.

Details for the application process

Before arranging the first interview appointment, students are asked to send the following papers solely to abschlussarbeiten (at) tim.tu-berlin.de

  • What are the motivations behind for your thesis? Why do you want to write your thesis at our chair?
  • Short VC
  • Your grades
  • Application form
  • An exposé /a detailed explanation for your proposed thesis.
    In general, it is possible to submit own topic suggestions. These topics should substantially fit to the research at our chair. In case you want to suggest a topic, please send us an abstract, in which you summarize your topic, why you think this topic is relevant and how you want to proceed

Depending on the resources of our staff members, a supervisor will contact you personally to make an interview appointment with you. Otherwise, a notice about a lack of capacities will be communicated as soon as possible.

Applications directly sent to our staff members will not be considered.


If your want to write a Bachelor or Master thesis at our chair, you have to had lectures in the following modules:

For bachelor theses:

  • Basic modules on the subject

For master theses:

  • Basic modules on the subject
  • At least one specialization module on the subject

Research Areas of TIM employees

Felix Pinkow

Felix Pinkow supervises theses within the field of innovation management and technology management. His main focus is on the topics of creativity in the innovation process and sources of innovative/creative behavior. Upon consulation, further topics in the field of innovation management and technology management are possible, as well as topics related to the courses held by the TIM-Chair.
