Philip Emmerich

Philip Emmerich did study Chemistry, Technology and International Development, and Business Administration at various institutions in Germany and abroad. Backed by practical experience working in ResearchProject ManagementEuropean AffairsStrategy and Transformation his main interests are in the field of:

  • Innovation Management
  • Economic Policy and Regulation
  • Electrochemical Energy Storage and Conversion
  • Biotechnology

Before starting to work at Technical University of Berlin in October 2018 he did research in the field of Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis focusing on the limits of battery recycling under a global circular economy perspective and the acceptance of emerging energy technologies in context of the German energy transition.

  • Specialized in specific functions

The aim is to assess their characteristics, development, and potential impact on product Innovations.

 

 

Teaching Activities

Philip Emmerich has a Lecturer status at the Department of Technology and Innovation Management (TIM)

Since 2019 he is responsible for the overall coordination and exercise of the new course Fundamentals of Project Management at Technical University of Berlin after designing and executing a successfull case-study-based pilot in 2018.

In his Project Management exercise he integrates applied project management knowledge and experiences of his time assisting the project leadership in managing and controlling of the EnBW AG major project Roll-Out Metering Infrastructure (ROMI) and contributing to the Energy System 2050 (ES2050) project of the Helmholtz Association.

Further he has been active in teaching various other courses in the field of Project- and Innovation Management, such as:

  • Project Management for Engineers in 2019 as Visiting Lecturer at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul (TDU)
  • Organization and Innovation Management in 2018 supporting the course as Teaching Assistant at Technical University of Berlin (TUB)
  • The Chemical Industry at a Glance - Structures, Markets, Companies, Strategies in 2016 as Intern supporting Prof. Dr. Griesar with the Merck and Darmstadt University of Technology lecture collaboration at the department of Chemistry (Merck / TU-Da)
