Technology and Innovation Management

The students will be introduced to the basics of operational innovation management. This includes a deeper understanding of the term innovation, as well as the challenges of in- and intercompany innovation processes.
People from different backgrounds and departments are involved in the development of innovative products and processes in varying intensity. Therefore it is important to have a clear project and process structure, communication, information flow, and interface management from the beginning of the idea generation to the end of the innovation process.

The Human Side of Innovation focuses on the people involved in innovation processes. The two main concepts concentrated on are: promotors and teams.

Strategic Management of Innovation (Successor of Mgt. of Innov. III)

Strategic Management of Innovation focuses on strategic challenges in innovation management. In addition to the innovation management lectures students can attend tutorials in which they work on case studies.

  • Innovation strategies: Sourcing Strategies, Exploitation Strategies, Timing Strategies
  • Competitive advantages through network competence
  • User driven innovation: Lead-User and Lead-Markets

Integrierte Veranstaltung (lecture + tutorial) in Technology Mangement
The IV Technology Management contains the lecture Technology Management as well as the tutorial Technology Management. The latter consists of practice-oriented, computer based scenario analyses in team work. The IV's capacity is limited. The tutorial can only be attended in combination with the lecture. The team work dates will be set up individually.
