- Explain fundamental research philosophies and approaches pursued by business scholars, including the distinction between positivist, interpretivist and constructionist approaches
- Identify the methodological approaches (i.e., research designs and data analytic tools) that are suitable to investigate different types of research questions and hypotheses
- Interpret the meaning of the most important statistical indicators featured in quantitative analyses, such as regression analysis, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, social network analysis and meta-analysis
- Describe the basic steps, strengths and weaknesses of different qualitative methods, including specific interview techniques, ethnography, the case study method, grounded theory analysis and narrative analysis
- Critically evaluate and discuss the quality of the research designs and analytical approaches presented in published journal articles featuring the methods covered in the course
